Some tips for digital painting~Because I am just so nice procrastinating from doing my Math IA, here's some tips! Hope it'll be useful to some people out there! (Bear in mind I'm not a pro, so yeah, this is my amateur tips I use for myself and my painting style) Right now I'm adopting a manga-realism style, so the following tips are those I have learned/picked up from other artists...
Depth and Color
Separate your work into foreground, mid-ground and background. The foreground should have the most saturated/bright colors and the most detail. For the background, use duller colors (choose colors closer to the gray spectrum) and have lesser details. It's good if you want it to be as detailed as the foreground, but a lack of details would create a sense of depth so that it seems like the background is really receding behind.
